What to expect on a Close Protection Course?

A bodyguard or close protection course is an intensive and demanding training program designed to teach the skills needed to protect high-profile or at-risk individuals.

You can expect a fast-paced mix of physical and mental challenges, covering everything from threat assessment, tactical driving, tactical shooting, weapon disarming drills and emergency medical care training. This includes on the job training/orientation in both private security and emergency medical services settings.

A final evaluation, often a practical field exercise, will test your ability to apply everything you've learned in a simulated, real-world scenario.

Close Protection Training in KZN

In South Africa the new accrediting body to oversee close protection training in South Africa is Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO). The South African Qualification Authority (SAQA) has registered the Close Protector under SAQA ID 118746, as a recognised qualification in South Africa.

MOSSC, situated in KZN, is duly registered both with South African and internationally recognised accrediting bodies to offer accredited close protector and high threat close protection training. Many graduates of MOSSC are working in full time employment in both the national and international arenas. Instructors at MOSSC are either ex South African Police Services or South African National Defence force veterans, many of which have worked in high profile areas both nationally and internationally.
